Lesson Plan 1:  Crafting a Good Story

Learning Outcome

 

After participating in this Lesson Plan, students will be able to demonstrate they understand the basics of crafting a good story by writing and sharing their own story.

Activities 
  1. Read the short essay Bird by Bird on Sue Robins' website.
     

  2. Review the Crafting a Good Story graphic (see above).
     

  3. Write your own story on the topic of why you chose health care.  
     

  4. Share your story with a group of your peers.
     

  5. Practice listening to other people's stories without interruption.
     

  6. Share the one take-away that you got from each story.
